Girls Vampire Halloween Costume

Twilight has inspired a great deal of interest in things that go bump in the night – and rightfully so. The characters were so lovable, they created a craze that’s still going strong today. The books and movies have made being a vampire a life to be envied.

It’s no wonder at all that so many tweens and girls want to dress up as a vampire for Halloween. Decking out in a girl’s vampire Halloween costume isn’t hard as long as you remember to follow a few basic tips to make the costume look good – that is if you’re aiming for the Cullen appeal.

To start with, don’t just buy a cape and some pointed teeth to wear. You can do so much more with the vampire look than you ever imagined. Begin with the basic makeup. Don’t wear your usual foundation that matches your skin tone.

You want to look pale – other worldly – so choose a foundation that’s much lighter than the one that you’d normally wear. The lighter the foundation is, the better. Apply it evenly to your face, your neck and the backs of your hands to get that deathly pale appearance.

Another important part to creating a girl’s vampire Halloween costume is the eyes. Vampires are notably dark eyed throughout history and Twilight added the golden eyes. But you can still achieve the look even if you have light eyes.

You can get this look for yourself by checking out the Halloween lenses your optometrist offers to change your eye color – remember that these are your eyes so you don’t want to get anything but the best here.

Once you have your eyes the color of a vampire, it’s time to move on to the clothing needed for the costume. Traditional stories featuring blood thirsty vampires focused on black capes and red lining (that always seemed to flash right before someone got bitten!) but today’s vampires don’t have to stick with the Dracula look.

Instead, if you’re a fan, you can opt for clothes like the Cullens wore – elegant, pale and classy. Avoid bright colors. Vampires wanted to mingle, to blend in, not to stand out and get attention. To cover a chill in the air, stick with warm, gray toned clothes and the same with sweaters or coats.

But if you prefer a girl’s vampire Halloween costume that’s brighter and you like sticking with the Dracula image of vampires, you can find great capes and dresses. You can find these costumes by such titles as Victorian Vampiress, Gothic Vampiress and even Transylvanian Vampiress. Don’t forget to get the accessories that go along with making a great Halloween costume.
